Chapter 3 : Leaving the Group

Francis looked at the IV drip above his head, feeling a bit confused. Wasn''t he just sleeping in his own bed?

"Awake?" Ernest, who had been observing him, spoke up. Ernest looked at the empty IV bag and pressed the button to call the nurse.

"Why did you take me to the hospital?" Francis had no memory after falling asleep. How did Ernest get him out of the house? He couldn''t have carried him to the car, right?

Ernest lazily yawned. "You had a severe fever and refused to come to the hospital. Since it was because of me that you got sick, I dragged you here."

Francis scratched his head. Did he actually cooperate with this person to leave the house while he was asleep?

Ernest smiled without saying anything. "Let''s go, take out the IV and go home."

Francis looked at the dark sky outside, feeling a bit annoyed. He lifted the blanket and put on his shoes. "I need to buy a computer and go to work. Thanks for helping me with all this." After saying that, he put on his coat and planned to leave. If he was late, his salary would be docked again.

"Wait, I''ll go with you." During the time Francis was in the hospital bed, Ernest had already signed the contract. If the handover work wasn''t completed, he wouldn''t have a job so soon.

In the morning.

After settling Francis, Ernest received a call to return to the company for a meeting. He had expected this, but he didn''t think they would be so impatient.

He drove slowly to the company and gently knocked on the meeting room door three times. "Is everyone here?" He sounded like he was there to host the meeting, not participate in it.

Angela couldn''t stand his indifferent attitude and rolled her eyes, urging him to sit down. "Alright, everyone is here. We called you all to discuss something. Ernest, you know about it, right?"

Ernest raised an eyebrow. "What should I know?"

The other team members looked at each other, not knowing what these two were hinting at. "The company now wants you to develop independently from the team. You should already be aware of this." Angela took out a contract from her bag.

"See if you have any comments." She pushed the contract in front of Ernest.

Ernest sneered. "The contract is already drafted. What comments could I have?" He didn''t even look at the details of the contract, just flipped through it casually and signed his name with a flourish.

"Alright, once you sign, you''re a solo artist. Remember to post on Twitter to inform your fans. You know what to say." After giving her instructions, Angela ignored the reactions of the others and walked out in her high heels.

Ernest clicked his tongue but didn''t say anything. He still opened Twitter and logged into his account. After all, he needed to reassure his fans.

"Had a wonderful time with the members of The Sun Company. Unfortunately, we can''t continue together. This is a decision made by both the company and myself. Hope the fans don''t overthink it. That''s all."

"Captain, have you made up your mind?" AlfPioneer Companyd Johnson was somewhat gleeful. Ernest was currently the most popular and rapidly developing member of their group. If he were to leave now, it would undoubtedly be a good thing for them.

"Do I have a choice?" Ernest shrugged, pushed his chair away, and walked out of the meeting room.

AlfPioneer Companyd gritted his teeth in frustration. So what if he''s popular? He''s still getting kicked out of the group. He''ll regret it later!

After leaving the company, Ernest headed straight to the hospital. It was the first time he had seen someone get a fever from taking care of others. He wondered if the person was feeling any better now. Thinking about the familiar-looking child in the hospital bed, Ernest quickened his pace.

Seeing Francis sleeping soundly in the hospital bed, Ernest breathed a sigh of relief. He rubbed his temples and sat by the bed, recalling the scene when he left earlier. It was amusing. He must have been out of his mind to leave with someone else''s child.

Just as he was about to touch Francis''s forehead to check for a fever, Francis woke up.

Back to the present.

Francis frowned at the darkening sky. It seemed like Mr. Williams was definitely going to be late tonight.

"What''s wrong?" Ernest noticed that Francis had been in a bad mood since he woke up. Wasn''t he just taking him to the hospital for an injection? Why was he so unhappy?

"I''m going to be late for work. I''ll buy the computer after work." Anyway, he wasn''t in a hurry. He could continue working at the bar and think about writing a novel later.

"Do you need it urgently? How about I buy it for you?" Ernest said, then clicked his tongue, feeling he might have been too forward. He thought the kid looked familiar, but the kid might just see him as someone trying to hit on him. Just as he was about to explain, he saw Francis hesitating.

Ernest swallowed his words and waited for Francis to respond.

"I''m not in a hurry, but do you know how to choose a computer? Can you help me buy a cheap and good one? I don''t have many requirements, just that it doesn''t lag."

Ernest still had two debts to settle with him. If he helped him choose a good computer, he would consider the first debt settled.

Ernest nodded. He needed a new computer too, so he might as well take on some extra work in the next few days.

"My bus is here. Remember to buy it, under three thousand!" Francis shouted to Ernest as he ran onto the bus.

"Got it." Ernest chuckled and turned to head to the garage to get his car.

As Ernest was driving to the computer store, he was unaware of the storm brewing online because of his tweet.

[What does Ernest mean by this? Is he leaving the group?]

[Is the company forcing you, baby? Little Sun is going to the official media to fight back!]

[Supporting Ernest''s decision, let''s walk the flower path together!]

[Finally free from those people, no more dragging the plane.]

[Ernest''s fans should have some shame. Maybe he did something that made the company give up on him?]

[Exactly, I don''t know what Ernest''s fans see in him. He''s ugly and his skills are just average!]

Ernest''s fans, his teammates'' fans, and the group''s haters were all fighting, creating chaos. Meanwhile, the management company of theson added fuel to the fire by releasing a statement, making the situation even worse.

However, the person at the center of the online storm was leisurely choosing a computer. The kid had asked for one under three thousand, but wasn''t that too cheap? If he bought a more expensive one, the kid probably wouldn''t notice.

"Hello, sir. What kind of computer are you looking for?"

Ernest waved his hand, indicating he wanted to look around himself. "These two, please. Send them to this address."

Ernest looked at the two computers, one black and one white, feeling very satisfied. He would give the white one to the kid. Silver-white suited him well.

The salesperson''s eyes lit up at the sight of the two computers. It seemed they had a big spender. "Sure, sir. We look forward to your next visit."

Why did that sound a bit strange? But Ernest nodded and walked out the door.
